My name is Jason James Salinaz (J James). Born on November 29, 1973 and raised in Detroit Michigan. San Diego has been home for the past fifteen years. I have been a photographer for four years, tattoo artist for thirteen years and was an airbrush artist for six years.
I refuse to pigeon hole myself in any one type of style. I love to use all formats of cameras from pinhole to digital to create my artwork. I also employ different types of film and digital equipment based on the mood I am trying to create in my artwork, but traditional black and white photography is my passion and my primary focus.
Currently I am creating a visual journey based on the book "On the Road", written by Jack Kerouac, A sort of modern retracing of Sal Paradise's incredible journey across the vastness of the United States and what the places and people might be like today. |
